Product Description

Black Roman Soutane - Soutane Noire Romaine | Custom Tailored Catholic Clergy Cassock

A gold raw silk cassock cut to your exact measurements — structured, textured, and striking under any light. No trim, no sash. Just the fabric and the silhouette.
Key Features:
  • Raw silk fabric in antique gold — natural slub texture gives depth and movement to the surface
  • Tonal gold ball-style button closures running the full front length — 33 buttons
  • Minimal mandarin-style standing collar
  • Long sleeves with simple folded cuffs
  • A-line silhouette with gentle sweep
  • Cut to your exact measurements — no off-the-shelf sizing
Customisation Options:

Provide your neck circumference, chest, waist, and total height at checkout. If you need a specific hem length — shorter for choir use, full-length for liturgical wear — note it in the order comments. We can also adjust the collar height, sleeve length, or cuff style. If you are ordering for a specific production or ceremony with unusual requirements, message us before placing your order.

Ideal Use Cases:
- Liturgical & Choir
Gold is a canonical liturgical colour for feast days and solemn celebrations. This cassock is appropriate as a choir cassock, cantor robe, or ceremonial vestment for high feast days across Catholic, Anglican, and Orthodox traditions.
- Theatre & Film
Raw silk reads exceptionally well on camera — the natural slub texture avoids the flat, artificial look of polyester alternatives. Used for high-budget period drama, papal or senior clergy roles, and stage productions requiring visual richness without embellishment.
- Ceremony & Occasion
Suitable for bishops, canons, and senior clergy who require a gold vestment for specific feast day obligations. The clean, unadorned design means it can be worn as a base layer under additional vestments or as a standalone choir robe.
- Fashion & Editorial
The silhouette, fabric, and colour place this cassock at the intersection of ecclesiastical dress and contemporary fashion. It has been used in editorial shoots, fashion presentations, and luxury event dressing where a long gold silk robe is required.

Production & Tailoring:

Each cassock is hand-cut and sewn by our in-house vestment tailoring team. Raw silk requires more careful cutting and handling than wool blends — allow 7–14 working days from measurement confirmation for this garment. We ship worldwide via tracked courier. Because this is a made-to-order garment in a premium fabric, please verify your measurements carefully before submitting. We cannot accept returns for sizing errors, but we will address any fit issue resulting from an error on our end.

A note on raw silk: the natural slub variations visible in the product photo are an inherent characteristic of the fabric, not a defect. Each cassock will have a slightly different surface pattern depending on the section of cloth used. This is what makes each one unique.

Custom Fit & Tailoring

We proudly offer complimentary bespoke tailoring. Simply share your measurements, and our specialists will handcraft your garment within 5–11 working days. Each piece is meticulously made to your proportions, ensuring a flawless fit and enduring comfort.

Shipping & Care

Enjoy worldwide delivery with tracking. Orders typically arrive within 4–9 business days for the USA and Europe (customs charges not included). To preserve the elegance of your garment, we recommend gentle dry cleaning or a delicate hand-wash in cold water, ensuring the trim and fabric remain in pristine condition.
